Telma H is actively composed of telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), and hydrochlorothiazide, a water pill (a thiazide diuretic). Telmisartan works by negating a substance in the body that causes constriction of the arteries or blood vessels. As a result, telmisartan acts as a vasodilator, meaning it relaxes the blood vessels. This reduces blood pressure and increases blood supply across the body, providing enough oxygen. Hydrochlorothiazide reduces the amount of body water by increasing urine flow, thereby lowering blood pressure.

• For high blood pressure, doctors advise one Telma H tablet once a day, which contains telmisartan 40 mg and hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg. Your doctor may maneuver your dose as needed.
• Please note this medicine does not cure your hypertension, but it does help control it. So, you must continue taking it as long as your doctor advises otherwise.
• Telma H is available with a patient information leaflet. Read all instructions carefully and follow them. Ask your physician if you fail to understand any instructions.
• Make sure you gulp a whole tablet with a glass of water, without breaking, crushing, or chewing the pills before consumption. Take this hypertension medicine with or without food.
• If you also using any cholesterol medications, take them at least 4 to 6 hours before or after taking Telma H.

• Before your doctor advises Telma H, he/she may ask you about your drug allergies (if any), and if you have telmisartan or hydrochlorothiazide allergy, you must not use this medicine.
• There have been inadequate studies of the drug in pregnant women for determining fetal risk and nursing mothers for determining the neonatal risk during breastfeeding.
• Although certain medicines are not allowed to be used at all, in some cases, taking Telma H with other medications could increase the risk of drug interactions so check with your doctor.
• Before using Telma H, you must inform your doctor whether you have any other medical condition that you have been suffering from in silence.
• It is important to see your doctor regularly to ensure the medicine is working properly. Your doctor may also order blood and urine tests for unwanted drug effects.

These side effects may or may not occur in patients using Telma H. However, one should seek medical attention right away if they experience severe side effects such as chest pain, breathlessness, extreme dizziness, urinary troubles, or extreme fatigue.

• Dizziness or lightheadedness may occur with Telma H tablets, especially when you try to get up from a sitting or lying position. So, try to get up slowly from a sitting or lying position during treatment.
• Make sure you avoid driving, using machines, or doing things that need your complete attention because this medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness.
• Telma H may affect your blood glucose levels. Check with your doctor if your blood sugar tests are elevated or if you notice any changes in glucose tests.
• This high blood pressure drug may increase potassium in your blood, a condition called hyperkalemia, so do not use potassium supplements without checking with your doctor.
• Telma H may increase the sensitivity of your skin so avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen when you will be outdoors. Also, avoid sunlamps and tanning beds.
