Fertility Drugs may Increase Risk of Breast Cancer in Women

As per a recent study, fertility drugs can actually increase the chance of breast cancer in women. The effectiveness of a drug to help a woman to get pregnant is also suspected. Here is more about this fact.

If you have fertility drugs, it can lead to hormonal changes. Some of these hormonal changes in women may also lead to breast cancer. The research was conducted on women from a family, one who suffered from breast cancer and one who didn’t.

It was observed that the women who suffered from breast cancer had actually consumed fertility drugs. It had an adverse effect on their health and could have been responsible for breast cancer.

Yet the fact is that the study could really not pinpoint at one unique solution. Some women who had fertility drugs seemed to have a reduced risk of breast cancer too. Yet there definitely is some link between the two.

According to study, women who took fertility drugs and got pregnant had a lower risk of suffering from breast cancer. Women who took fertility drugs but did not get pregnant had a greater risk of suffering from breast cancer.

The study laid major focus on ovulation-stimulating drugs. These drugs cause the woman’s ovaries to go into hyper-ovulation. This makes her body produce more eggs which can be fertilized. The increased eggs can also increase the estrogen in a woman’s body. The increased level of estrogen can lead to breast cancer.
